EMOM stands for Every Minute On the Minute, and once you understand how it works, you will wonder how you ever trained without it.

The concept is straightforward. You set a timer. At the start of each minute, you do a prescribed number of reps. When you are done, you rest for whatever time remains in that minute. When the next minute starts, you go again. You repeat this for as many minutes as your workout lasts.

That is it. No complicated programming. No equipment beyond a phone with a timer app. Just you, the clock, and the work.

Finish your reps fast and you get more rest. Go too slow and the next minute catches you before you are ready.

What makes it work is the self-regulating rest. You are not guessing how long to recover. The clock tells you. Over time, that tension between work and rest is exactly what drives progress. The same number of reps, the same interval, and yet the workout gets harder as fatigue builds. That is progressive overload without adding extra weight.

It also works across multiple training goals. Moderate reps, adequate rest, controlled tempo for strength. Low reps, full rest, explosive concentric tempo for power. Higher reps, shorter rest, steady pace for endurance. One structure, three different stimuli, depending on how you set your dials.

No trainer needed. No gym. No complicated app. Just a timer and the willingness to start when the minute does.

Let the app run the clock.

HeartKore is built entirely around the EMOM format, with the pacing and progression handled for you.
